Meet the Instructor
Please allow me to introduce myself! My name is Lindsay Rothlein-Welek, a fitness enthusiast, drawn to unique styles of exercise, preferably that include creativity, thrill, and/or excitement. I am married to my best friend and a mother of 3 young, beautiful girls who constantly keep me on my toes!
Over the past 20+ years, my numerous professions have always been focused around various forms of fitness, with training and certifications in:
•Kangoo Power
•Vinyasa and Power Yoga
•Gymnastics and Cheer
•Beginner Aerial Silks/Fabric
•Pilates Reformer
Aside from my own children, I’ve professionally taught students, ranging from 18 months through my grandmother, currently at 90 years old, and everywhere in between! Teaching is my passion so to be able to combine both this and fitness, makes for a really fun career! *Side note: I also run a spray tan biz (shameless plug) so feel free to hit me up for that as well!
I first discovered Kangoo <in the midst of our Covid pandemic> while browsing Facebook and wasting more time than I care to admit, when I came across a video that had gone viral, of a group of students bouncing around to “Dance Monkey,” who seemed to be having so much fun! I instantly started reading through several of the comments, trying to determine if others thought this looked as amazing as I did, quickly coming to the conclusion that this program is definitely a hit! Within the next 1.5 minutes, I researched to find out what it was called and searched Dallas to see if this already existed but low and behold, there were no current instructors in the metroplex! Having never taken a class, I ordered a few pairs of boots, including some for myself, and just gave it a go! I knew that this was right up my alley and would attract tons of students who were suffering from depression due to the pandemic. We were in a period of amazing weather and I felt I could keep us at a Covid-safe distance, outdoors, while also stimulating those endorphins and having a blast of an effective workout! I worked hard to get licensed as quickly as possible and KANGOO KARDIO by Kangoo Club DFW was born. I am always so grateful to those who have supported me from the beginning and saw my vision and potential to make this what it is today. Our group is constantly growing and I’m determined to gain hundreds of new practitioners with a fitness program that I wholeheartedly believe in!
But what is Kangoo Kardio?
Kangoo Kardio is my personal spin off of our program, Kangoo Power. It is an explosive, highly motivating program, specifically designed to challenge the whole body by building muscular strength and cardiorespiratory endurance simultaneously. The boots are similar to rollerblades but with a spring-loaded contraption underneath simulating a feeling of being on miniature trampolines, while also comprised of a rounded bottom requiring core engagement such as a Bosu Ball. Because of the Impact Protection System located underneath the boots, the impact of this athletic activity is absorbed by up to 80%, preventing damage to the joints typically caused from running and/or jumping.
Each movement is designed to focus on core stability, ensuring a balanced workout that will challenge even the fittest. Our method is to begin with basic moves that are easy to follow and can be performed with growing complexity and intensity, as you progress. Students can stick to the initial movements until they feel comfortable adding on the challenges as they are given.
This program suits a broad range of class attendees regardless of fitness level. It is also great for athletes, due to its use of plyometric explosive techniques.
